I'm really pleased to see you here on my summer learning blog.
You worked super hard all year to build terrific reading, writing, and numeracy skills. It is very wise of you to practice for a bit each day during summer.
I have tried to make it easy and efficient. Don't spend more than an hour each day staring at a computer screen. Summer fun awaits! Here's a basic plan:
First, you'll need to find a book at the library or download an ebook on Google Books or Project Gutenberg.
Read while you eat your breakfast. Chew slowly.
Talk about what you read with someone while you help clear the table.
Have some water and do a few push-ups or jumping jacks. Get your parent to join you (it's good for them, too!)
Computer time! Find some numeracy that puzzles you and practice it for a while.
If you get distracted, go with it. Have a sit spot for 10 or 20 minutes and then refocus.
Look at you! Such self-discipline!(Very impressive.)
Do your best with everything you attempt.
Share your dazzling new knowledge and ideas and make a new friend (it doesn't have to be a human friend!)
Stay cool and hydrated, read again to relax before bedtime, and play as often as you can!
